JR takes over the Tobogã at Pacaembú Stadium
To celebrate its 80 years of existence, JR was invited to paste 1480 strips of paper to cover the iconic Tobogã tribune of Pacaembú Stadium with the penetrating gaze of a young Brazilian from an underprivileged community.
In this year of great transformations, the gaze that portrays youth is ready for whatever the future may hold.
Built in the Art Deco style in the 1930s and inaugurated in the 1940s, the Pacaembú Sports Complex hosted several nations at the 1950 World Cup. Today it is one of the most beloved architectural icons within the city of São Paulo.
Special thanks to Galleria Continua and Galeria Nara Roesler, without whom this project would not have been possible.
