"BLACK AND WHITE", SIMON STUDER ART, GENEVA, SWITZERLAND

From September 30 to October 29, 2021, Simon Studer Art presents "BLACK AND WHITE", an exhibition featuring works by JR from the projects GIANTS, The Wrinkles of the City, Ballet, Inside Out, or Unframed.
The exhibition highlights the points of convergence of these different projects: JR's predilection for black and white, but also his work on scale and perspective.
With GIANTS, Mohamed YOUNES IDRISS from Sudan, Flamengo, JR deploys, for example, a monumental portrait of the athlete on the facade and roof of a building in Rio, then in the midst of celebrating the 2016 Olympic Games.
With GIANTS, Death Valley, billboard, he recreates a continuous skyline between his installation and the mountains in the background, thus blurring the line between the artificial and the natural, and modifying our perception of the different planes.
